We are looking for all types of performances by any number of people: dance, music, acting, poetry readings, special talents - you name it! Past performances have included improv teams, African drumming, dance numbers, one man renditions of Monty Python, bands, as well as monologues, solo vocalists, and performance pieces. All levels of experience welcomed and encouraged.
Screenings are on November 1st and 2nd (so we can prepare a performance order - this is NOT an audition). Please email harthouse.drama@utoronto.ca for a sign up time!
Fringosity takes place on Friday November 17th in the Debates Room.

Four kooky plays compete for the Audience Choice Award Thurs Oct 12-Sun Oct 15th, 8pm in the Debates room. Completely student-created, each production receives a budget of 100 dollars, rehearsal space, a venue, and a workshop with Allana Harkin, a theatre professional. Come out and see the wild results!

3) ONSTAGE!
If you're interested in Fringosity, why not come out to OnStage!? We're looking for anything theatrical to put on in the Arbor Room, on October 19th from 7-9. Do you have a play you'd like to stage/have read? A band that wants to play? Any act - this is an open mic type of event. Please email harthouse.drama@utoronto.ca with what you'd like to do, and how long it will be, and we will email you back with a confirmation and performance order.
4) UofT DRAMA FESTIVAL
We're now accepting submissions at the Porter's Desk! We want submissions from:
A. Playwright Submission - a student-written play (60 minutes or less) can be submitted that is unaffiliated with any director.
B. Director Submission - a student director unaffiliated with any play can apply to direct one of the playwright submissions. Directors must provide a letter about why they wish to direct, and including any previous experience. Scripts will be available for them to read prior to their interviews. Interviews will also be held November 6th and 7th, time TBA.
C. Package Submission - A student director can apply to direct a student-written play (60 minutes or less) as long as it is not written by the director.
You are able to submit to both categories. All scripts/directors will be chosen on the merits and strengths of their proposals.
RULES
- All submissions should be in an envelope that is clearly labelled ATTN Hart House Drama Society.
- Three copies of the scripts must be submitted.
- Your submission must include a cover page with your full name, student number, telephone number, and email address, and the submission type (ie Playwright, Director, or Package submission).
Submissions missing one or more of these will not be considered.
DEADLINE: Friday October 27th, 2006. Submit to the Hart House Porters Desk.
5) THE BEAR AND THE PROPOSAL - Our Theatre Mentorship Program is seeking actors and crew.
The Hart House Drama Society is proud to present Chekvov Vaudevilles: The Bear & The Proposal, which will be performed March 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
We are looking for enthusiastic ACTORS with great comic timing for this production to work with professional director Zed Pitkin.
Auditions will be held Thursday Oct. 19th and Sunday Oct. 22nd from 11-5 at Hart House.
We also have another tentative audition date set for Saturday Oct. 21st from 7:15-10:30pm also at Hart House, which is yet to be confirmed. Come prepared with one comic monologue. Please

The HHDS is also looking for dedicated CREW members for the production to participate in our Theatre Mentorship Program. This program gives students a tremendous opportunity to work with professionals in different aspects of theatre. We are looking for a student to serve as an assistant director and apprentice to Zed as well as an assistant technical director, costume designer, and choreographer. Other than the mentorship positions, students are also needed for positions involving sound design, lighting, and stage management. Please e-mail Zed
